I found the trail of huge Camponotus species, which I think Camponotus Gilviceps. They were forging nearby a small creek in the jungle.
Major worker examing the photographer. Some of the major workers were just standing, and examing something in the air with their antenna. I think they were protecting themseleves from small parasite flies.
This young Polyrhachis striatorugosa queen was forging on the jungle floor after sunset. This huge spiny ant with bulging eyes is covered with bulky hair. Polyrhachis striatorugosa seems to be nocturnal, because workers can be seen usually during night time. Most of the Polyrhachis species are semiclaustral foundress. So the queen scavenge for food until the workers are born. Notice the single egg between her mandible.
